I was urged by Pasha group Joan Henderson to write a book about the use of the NYMEX Henry Hub contract. The book was completed and published in 1993 and eventually had three printings.
.
The book covers the specifications of the contract, the physical markets, options and derivatives, among other subjects. Many industry participants were very generous with their time as I researched the work.
A lot has changed since that time. The open outcry pit in New York is gone, replaced by electronic order submission. The weekly gas storage by the U.S. Energy Information Administration drives the market. Hedge funds began to account for an increasing amount of trading volume a couple of years after the book was first published. Another edition would require substantial research.
